Memories of LA

Playing two truths and a lie once we got stuck in classic LA traffic to pass the time. It worked. Walter is a fantastic story teller (stuff you wouldn't believe any of it could be true) and Joab is a good bluffer and Emily has a totally creative streak when it comes to these stories. I played alright, considering I was the one driving!

Not being able to snack at all in George's truck (nonetheless, thanks for letting us take such a cool ride to LA); a tricky proposition for a toddler and a 4 year old.

Walter spending almost 8 hours by himself at Disneyland and California Adventure, but sure getting a lot out of his entrance fees. He made it on almost every ride!

Going with Miriam on her first roller coaster ride (Matterhorn Bobsleds---no comment---) and Asa on his first non-roller coaster ride (Storyland Canal Boats).

Squeals of excitement from Miriam and Asa!

My mom and dad taking the kids home so the big kids could enjoy the park, which we did to the fullest extent possible. We closed the park down at 12:02 am and didn't get home until nearly 2 am. Having left the house at 7:15 am, that made for a long day. But it was totally worth it.

Playing on Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters (the coolest ride at Disneyland) twice with no waiting either time. Joab beat Walter and Emily and I were pretty far behind.

Getting no more than 6 hours of sleep for 3 days in a row...

Having so many questions that only wikipedia could answer.

Taking the driving tour of Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Santa Monica on a gorgeous Saturday and really getting to enjoy the experience (even with the crazy ex-Californian tour guide/driver---me!).

Missing Geo was no fun :(

And so much more. Enjoy the pictures.

Seriously?!?!

Did all this happen in one week? Geo moved McMom out from Arkansas so she can live in Arizona again. All of us pitched in to help her get settled in quickly! Then we took a road trip to IKEA in Tempe so we could pick up a few things for her new place and get a few fun new toys for our house. After that, we decided that it would be super easy to drive my mom and dad's stuff that was in storage in Prescott Valley to their new house in Los Angeles. That wasn't such a bad idea, but we got a flat tire about 1 1/2 out of Phoenix...the angel that came to fix us got us back on the road in 15 minutes. Thank you, Lord! We spent one extra night in LA to compensate for us not getting there until 3:30 am. It was fun to spend some time in the new house and I also got to visit my grandma, a lot of cousins and my sister and her husband. I just wish I took more pictures :}
