Driving Me...

Crazy??? No, not yet. But let me tell you two crazy things about driving. One, I've been teaching our new roommate Pooja how to handle the American roads. Not so bad, but I tell you there is nothing like teaching someone the rules of the road to do an inventory on your own driving habits. And the drivers here on the road in Glendale have been driving me crazy! I have never seen such recklessness...I just can't handle it anymore. It would make me mad if I were the one driving, but I'm stuck in the front seat trying to explain to sweet Pooja why all these drivers are making me crazy. We've got about 7 hours or so behind the wheel together so far (I think) and just thinking about getting her 30 hours in (what is recommended for new 15 year old drivers, not those with licenses from other countries!!!) is enough to make me throw in the towel. Not because of Pooja, mind you, but the other crazies on the road. Argh!!!

And two...tonight I took my first spin around town in our new-to-us stick-mobile. I have been afraid to drive the oh-so-cute, but terribly impractical Toyota MR2 Spyder. I'm glad it's Geo's commuting car! But he needs to borrow my car one of these days to bring home some stuff from Prescott, so he's got good incentive to give me driving lessons. So I went from teacher to student tonight. He's a great teacher, but I'm glad I can punch him when he tells me to go faster than the posted speed limit. Thankfully, Pooja hasn't started punching me yet when I tell her to speed up to reach the posted speed limit! ;)

Remind me, I must post a picture of us in our cute new car here! Here's to safe and defensive drivers!!! :)

Haha, remember that time I visited you at school and everyone who knew how to drive manual had had a few too many drinks, so we all tried to teach you how to drive? Good times... :-)

Krissy,

I remember you drove in Europe. That was a straight stick and you did fine. (Only one stop by police as I recall.) Pooja is lucky to have your calm in the chaos of Glendale. Lets see the picture of the Spyder.

Peace
